Bead & Fiber ESCAPES
Escape to the beautiful countryside with some friends for
a fantastic creative experience with beads, yarn, or felting fibers OR open your home to your friends for a Bead & Fiber party.
Take time off with some friends and escape into the country to learn new bead or fiber techniques. Escapes are hands-on classes, parties, or get-a-ways for small groups. Whether it is a birthday party, play-date for friends, neighborhood gathering, prom or wedding jewelry party, Girl Scout project, etc., an "escape" at Bead & Fiber Fantasy can provide an unique creative opportunity for your group.
Our hands-on, one time or multiple meeting sessions are generally held in our great room on the second floor. Its six foot tall windows, open to the beautiful countryside, help provide a perfect creative setting for up to 8 adults or 10 young people. Knowledgeable instructors and a large selection of lovely beads, yarns, and supplies complete a unique creative experience.
We offer both 2-3 hour sessions for smaller bead and jewelry projects and “extended” sessions for lengthier knitted, beaded, and felted projects . For your convenience, our shorter, 2-3 hour projects can be scheduled as delightful jewelry parties at your own home.
Two-Three Hour ESCAPE Projects - minimum 6, maximum 8
Leather, Bead & Knot,Triple Wrap Bracelet/Necklace - Many colors and styles
This multi-use project produces a triple wrap bracelet that can also be worn as a necklace. Made using leather cord (many colors available), an attractive button, and glass beads in the same or different sizes.
No beading experience needed. Approximately 2 hr. $20 .
Fee includes all materials, use of tools, and instruction.
Leather and Bead, Single or Double Wrap, Bracelet - Chan Luu style
Choose to make either a single- or double-wrap beaded bracelet with glass, gemstone, or crystal beads and leather cord, secured with an attractive button. A very popular and attractive style to wear and give as gifts.
No beading experience needed. Approximately 2 hr. $15-20 (depends on length & bead cost). Fee includes all materials, use of tools, and instruction.
Peyote Stitch Bracelet - made with #8 Delica beads . Choose your own colors and design
Extended ESCAPE Projects - meet for 1.5 - 2 hrs, 2 - 3 weeks
Learn the beaded peyote stitch and make a unique cuff bracelet with #8 Delica beads. Select your own colors and pattern.
No beading experience needed. 2 weeks, 2 hr. each $25. Fee includes beading string, needles, clasp; use of tools; instruction. Buy your own colors of beads from the rack.
Beach Bling
Why not? Incorporate matte finish sea-glass type beads and seashore charms and shells into one of three types of bracelet/anklet (elastic, memory wire, knotted) and a beach themed pendant cluster on a leather-like cord. Lots of design possibilities. Choose from numerous charms, beads, and natural sea shells
No beading experience needed. Approximately 2 1/2 hr. $20 .
Fee includes all materials, use of tools, and instruction.
Knitted Felt, Bare Basics Bag: perfect for your basics - phone, wallet, book, etc. approx 9" x 10"
1. Plan and begin knitting the body (knitting in the round). Size may be increased.
2. Knit the pocket (flat knitting) and begin the I-cord handle
3. Attach pocket. Felt bags and straps in the BFF washer.

Buy your own wool yarn from many beautiful colors. 1.5 hrs, 3 weeks. Pattern, instruction, and use of washer for felting included in $20 fee.
Knit a Slinkie Hat, a BFF Design original that is reversible and collapsible
1. Select your yarn and begin knitting with 16", size #9 circular needles.
2. Complete 'decrease' portion of hat, using double point size #9 needles. Finishing touches and top options. Using left-over yarn for a smaller hat.
1.5 hrs, 2 weeks. Yarn (select from 8 colorways), pattern, and instruction, included in $16 fee

Knit this cute hoodie for a child using Encore "Mega" yarn, a washable 75% acrylic, 25% wool blend.
Begin knitting at the hood and proceed as with a typical top-down sweater. Works up fast on large needles.
No seams to sew.
Buy your own yarn from many beautiful colors. 1.5 hrs, 3 weeks. Pattern, instruction, and toggle buttons included in $20 fee.
To Plan Your Bead or Fiber Escape
1. Select a bead or fiber/felt project from our list or design your own unique project with Louise’s assistance. All project materials, instruction, and tools (for class use) are included in the project cost, which will range between $20 and $30 each. The person scheduling the party pays no fee and will get a gift certificate for use at Bead & Fiber Fantasy, based on the number of participants.
2. Invite 6-8 friends for a 2 + hour Escape at Bead & Fiber Fantasy or at your home. Most B&F Escapes are held Monday and Friday evenings from 7-9pm, Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm, Wednesday mornings from 10–noon. Other times are available, especially in the summer.
3. Reserve a date and time by calling or emailing Louise (lou10smith@gmail.com).
4. Confirm your reservation by sending in a non-refundable $30 deposit (applied to your total).
5 At least 5 days before your Escape confirm the number of participants. An invoice will be emailed to you. The balance is due on the day of your B&F Escape. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash, and checks.
6. Beverages, a la Keurig, and homemade iced green tea, will be provided at no cost. You may also bring your own beverages (non-alcoholic) and snacks.
